For the past 7 years, we’ve been proud to buy coffee from Greg, a coffee farmer in San Roque, Antioquia, Colombia. His coffee has been a constant on our menu, and his work is a big part of what makes our café what it is.
Recently, heavy rains caused a landslide on Greg’s farm, destroying a section of land and washing away a large number of coffee trees. As a result, Greg has lost future harvests from that part of the farm and now faces the challenge of clearing the damaged land and replanting new coffee trees.

Coffee farming is long-term work. New trees take years to mature, and setbacks like this can have a huge impact on a farmer’s livelihood.
What we’re raising money for:
-
Recollection of best seeds from neighbouring farms
-
Soil preparation using organic methods & fermentation of seeds
-
Bags
-
Bags for once the seeds germinate
-
Field preparation , clean up and organic fertiliser
-
Planting
-
Transport costs
The estimated cost of this work is £1,000.
How we’re helping
We’re asking our community to help us raise £500, and we will match it with £500 from our own business sales, so together we can fully cover the cost and support Greg in rebuilding.
Why this matters to us
Greg is someone we’ve worked with, trusted, and supported for years. When things go well, we benefit from his hard work. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps make a real difference and goes directly towards restoring Greg’s farm and future harvests.
Thank you for supporting the people behind the coffee you drink.
